Pwani Bora exists because ocean health and community wellbeing are deeply connected along Kenya’s coast. Based in Watamu, our work brings together local knowledge, science, education, and practical action to protect marine ecosystems while supporting the people who depend on them every day.
We believe the strongest conservation solutions begin with the community. Fishers, youth, women’s groups, researchers, tourism partners, and coastal families all have a role to play in shaping a healthier future for our beaches, reefs, mangroves, and sea turtle habitats.

Why Local Leadership Works
